Hairdressing and beauty are not regulated here. No licence, no compulsory qualification, Hair Council registration voluntary. Nobody has vetted the salon you are about to book. So ask what they hold — here is what we hold.
Nothing here is licensed by default, so we publish what we hold rather than implying oversight that does not exist.

Her HQ (NW) Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 15927380, on Penny Lane in Mossley Hill, Liverpool, and trading since August 2024. Being that new, it claims no track record it does not have. It provides hair services and beauty treatments, and offers space to self-employed professionals.
Here is the thing most clients do not know. Hairdressing and most beauty therapy are not regulated in England: no licence is needed to open a salon, no qualification is legally required to provide most services, and Hair Council registration is voluntary. No official body has inspected the premises or vetted the practitioner. Since that reassurance does not exist, the only honest substitute is evidence, so we publish the qualifications held, hold insurance that we will show you, and register with the council for the specific treatments that do require it — skin piercing, micropigmentation, electrolysis and the like. We offer no injectable or prescription-only cosmetic treatments at all, and those are in any case unlawful for under-eighteens.
In England, yes, for hairdressing and most beauty therapy. There is no statutory licensing regime, no compulsory qualification, and Hair Council registration is voluntary. We think clients should know that, because the absence of regulation is invisible — an unqualified salon and a highly qualified one look identical from the street. Ask any salon what they hold; we will show you ours.
A specific group: skin piercing, tattooing, semi-permanent skin colouring and micropigmentation, electrolysis and acupuncture, under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 and local byelaws. We hold registration for what we offer in that category and we do not offer anything in it that we are not registered for.
No. Those involve prescription-only medicines which require a proper assessment by a prescriber, and administering either for cosmetic purposes to anyone under eighteen is a criminal offence. We do not provide them and we do not arrange them. If that is what you are after, ask whoever offers it who is prescribing and whether they assessed you in person.
A reasonable question, and we would rather answer it than pad the page. There is no length of trading to point to, so point at the checkable things instead: the qualifications, the insurance certificate, the council registration, and the patch test policy. Those are verifiable in a way that "established" is not.
Only with a valid patch test already done. The manufacturer's instructions require a test the stated interval before a colour service, and a salon that skips it has skipped the step that protects you. Come in for a free consultation and test, then book the colour.
We will tell you before the booking is taken. Some services here are provided by self-employed professionals running their own businesses, in which case you contract with them and they carry their own qualifications and insurance. That matters if anything goes wrong, so it is not something to discover afterwards.
